GODHEAD The Shadow Line

Cement Shoes Records Rating: 9 out of 10 Reviewed by: Bam-Bam
Washington D.C. quartet Godhead strike back with their best album to date which would easily make this offering worth its weight in gold since their past releases weren’t too shabby either!!! Giving up none of their influences they forge forward with an effort that finds them delving into many different topics, some of which are political in nature, others that take a different look at love through the eyes of the very talented Godhead frontman Jason Miller. Overall they have tightened up their sound and made it very “rock radio” accessible without sounding like a bunch of pussies, which is no easy feat considering the way bands like Hoobastank, Staind, and Korn all took the easy way out and practically fell asleep on their morals. Lead off track and the first video from the album, “Trapped In Your Lies”, is more than enough to lure in the skeptical and keep their diehard fans buying the tickets to their shows. I was very impressed that this release came with a cool DVD addition which showed the making of this killer track and a couple of others. Nice touch!!! Standout performances are given by the aforementioned Jason Miller and guitarist Mike Miller (no relation). Recommended tracks include the Ben Moody (Evanesence) produced “Push”, “Through The Cracks”, “Another Day”, and “Trapped In Your Lies”, however, there’s not a weak moment on the entire record. Head over to www.godhead.com to find out about their fall tour dates and for all the current information on the band. This album is in stores now and comes Highly Recommended for fans of the band’s earlier work and those who think “heavy with hooks” is not dirty language!
