Armed with a very impressive website and an aesthetically professional looking new CD, this group of Chicago rockers have made sure their stage is set for upward launch. Not only did they include a personal letter introducing themselves and thanking us for checking out their music (a very nice touch, guys, one that other new bands should take note of as this is a pretty thankless and overlooked part of the music industry food chain), they also directed me to their online Podcast information and, holy shit, they even made sure they included contact information in case we cared enough to possibly pull them in for an interview and such. Well, we do care enough, and thank God they care enough to write, perform, produce, and market an album of such great integrity in the Rock idiom, on their own! A incredible feat from such a young band. Hell, the drummer looks like he could be my 18-year old son, for Christ’s sake!!! That being said, he’d slaughter my old, 80’s worshipping ass in a drum dual if it ever came down to it, so my hats-off to Mr. Jeff Lareau for making me grin and wince a few times at some cool fills (check out “Where Did We Go Wrong”) that I wished I had been able to nail back in my early days behind the kit. Kudos, young man! But, it doesn’t stop there, no sir; guitarists Dave Cannek and Brad Guidera are sick son-of-a-bitches who’ve studied at the altar of old SKYNYRD, VAN HALEN, THIN LIZZY, and the late, great RANDY RHOADS. You fuckers better thank your parents for the great influences they’ve imparted on you; this kind of output is highly unusual for lads of your youth. Mad props to bassist/singer Jeff Harstead for not only being a very competent musician and singer, but for being a pretty damned astute business man in an industry that’s seen every trick in the book. It’s been a pretty long time since I’ve been this bowled over with talent from a virtual unknown band. My hopes and heartfelt prayers are that they won’t stay that way long, they’re the real deal and incredibly gifted. Not a single song follows any given path that could tag them as “this” kind of band or “that” kind of artist. They’re all across the board, which clearly indicates to me that there’s nothing they can’t do and no one they can’t appeal to. Simply incredible!!! Guitarists, don’t say I didn’t pre-warn you of some sleepless nights you’ll spend trying to learn some of these friggin’ solos! If I was to rate this overall and without any knowledge of background, age, or experience, it would come up just shy of perfect due to some minor bitches I have with the production, but with a major label’s money and support, that would not be an issue, so with all things considered, I’m giving them the fucking 10 with no regrets. Please check them out at CONTENTSUNDERPRESSURE.COM and snag a copy of this sensational release. Best of luck, guys, I think you’re on to something great!!! Very, Very Highly Recommended!!!
